I love this little chipboard dress an hanger I picked up at Crafty Secrets. SO cute and I've been wanting to make something with it for so long. Finally, I made myself sit down and create this. I think it turned out better than I expected. I used a piece of fabric and attached it to the chipboard with Fabric Tac. Next, I distressed the belt buckle and then cut a slit in the middle column followed by sliding the trim into place. I distressed the hearts as well and added some Wild Orchid Crafts roses. In addition, I applied some pearl buttons using shank cutters to remove the back loops. I used a vintage button on top of a button I created with my Epiphany Crafts button maker and some distressed DP. The other day, I purchased some absolutely beautiful 6 X 6 papers from Etsy made by Melissa Frances. I took one of the sheets and adhered it to the inside of the dress with the Fabric Tac.
I created the collar by using the chipboard piece (included) and distressing it with TH distress stain then covering it with lace. I added lace to the sleeves as well. The "Remember", "Treasures of the Heart" and "Remember and Cherish" sentiments are all rub ons. Lastly, I colored Miss Tilda with Copics. Tilda is here to wish everyone a very Happy Holiday. I love this new image and this time, I decided to try my hand at paper piecing. I paper pieced thes clothes and hat then highlighted the edges with coordinating Copic markers. In addition, I used some homemade paper as the base and then applied a Magnolia Christmas DP. Then, I had a chance to finally use one of my new pearl brads as well as the metal insert. (I can't remember what they're called) and some new lace I received in a package purchase from an Etsy store. Lastly, I applied the pink checkered ribbon.

I am entering her in two challenges:
1. Just Magnolia-Anything goes w/ option to use sparkle
2. Magnolia Stamp Lovers-accessory challenge

Edwin comes bearing gifts...

I finally finished my Edwin card that I've been working on. I just love this adorable image and couldn't wait to do something with little Edwin. I am entering this card into the Magnolia-licious Challenge with the following picture as inspiration:

I love this picture. So warm and inviting. I used similar colors for this cute Edwin as he comes with more gifts to add under the Christmas tree.

I love these new papers from Cosmo Cricket. They worked perfectly for the colors and seasonal greeting. I stamped "sweet Christmas dreams" from a magnolia stamp sentiment. The plastic, glittery snowflakes I picked up somewhere a while back and never used them. I used some new twine I bought and used some "snow" I made out of styrofoam balls. Lastly, the brown and red CS is from American Crafts Christmas pack. I had fun creating this and I appreciate your comments. Thank you so much!!!

Hi all! Well, I thought I would get started earlier this year making Christmas cards. I made this one for my nephew. I hope he likes it. I'm entering this in the latest Copic Coloring Challenge over at Color Me Creative Classroom. I also tried my hand at shading with the light reflecting from the candle. Hi! I thought I would share with you a card I designed for the Magnolia-licious Challenge blog which is a color challenge using Paola's inspiration photo here:

Then, I read the blog post in my Google reader from The Offical Magnolia Inspiration Challenge blog and thought a-HA! I can submit it for that color challenge too! Which happens to be pink! with brown and white. However, I was a day late and a dollah short as they say. Oh well...Here is what I've designed:

I'm using my new tilda stamp as well as my new magnolia papers along with some new paper flowers from WOC. I found the bling at Michael's. The image is colored with Copics. The gingham ribbon is from GKD. I used my Martha Stewart decorative corner punch for the CS and distress inked the sides of the DP as well as the image. I'm pleased with the way she turned out and thanks so much for looking!!

Okay, I know that's a lame title but, I couldn't resist. LOL I'm excited b/c I found some time today to play with Tilda. I'm using a couple of new stamps here that I purchased and am finally getting around to using. I love these! One is Tilda with the bee and the other is the honey pot. I colored them in with my Copic markers. I combined two different types of ribbon here as well. I used a daisy patterned ribbon over some white Twill tape. In addition, the bee stamp in the left lower corner is from PTI. Lastly, I cut out the tilda image around the bee including the antennae and then made antennae out of gold wire with my wire cutters and pliers. I made the yellow flower myself following a tutorial I found. However, unfortunately, I didn't bookmark the site!! GRRRR!!!! Lesson learned! They are SO easy to make! I took a scalloped circle punch and an old piece of CS and punched out 8 circles. I spritzed them with water using my TH mini mister. Then, I scrunched them up into a wad. Gently, unfold them. Next, I took Scattered Straw distress ink and distressed the edges and lightly brushed across the center. Lastly, I layered them staggering the petals slightly and punched a hole in the middle with my Crop-A-Dile followed by the insertion of a brad. Voila'! I found that re-inking the edges after the flower is assembled then spritzing with Tsukineko Shimmer spritz produces some beautiful results. I wish I could have captured it better in the pic. The greeting is from TreeHouse stamps. TFL!

Hi all! Well, I planned a much-needed mental health day off from work and I wanted to share with you a card that I created today for the Magnolia-licious Challenge # 7.

The theme is based on an inspiration picture:

Upon seeing this image, I immediately thought of the purchase I recently made through the Magnolia-licious Store. It's called "Tea Party" and is a digi scene image specifically for Magnolia images designed by DigiDrawn. Isn't it adorable?! I thought "oooh! oooh! perfect!" LOL I love when a plan comes together!
I really had fun with this one as well. I used a new charm I just purchased at Michael's today. In addition, I colored the images in with my Copics. I then applied Glossy Accents to the teapot and cups. Furthermore, I paper-pieced the tablecloth skirt onto the digi image by printing it out on an 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of DCWV Designer paper then cutting it out and applying it to another printed image on PTI CS. The Paisley DP is DCWV also. Next, I applied my Copic Spica pens to the tablecloth hem and the roses. Lastly, I cut out all the images and then elevated them on different sized pop dots to create depth. I am so excited to see how it turned out!

Wow! I hadn't realized it's been since January that I posted a card. How pathetic is that?! LOL You know life is too busy when a person doesn't make time to play with the sweet maggies! Phew! finally found some time to play. My poor blogs have been so neglected. I really need to win the lottery...anyone have the numbers? LOL Anyhoo...I won this stamp in a card challenge and I've been really wanting to use it. SO! I decided to pull her out and ink her up. I had a lot of fun putting this together. It took me FOREVER though b/c I couldn't decide how I wanted to do it. I found this really cool template HERE for the porthole bkgd. This wonderful lady was nice enough to put it in PSP form so I could download it and play with it in the software program. Awesome! I found the sentiment for this card in one of my old stamp sets from Gina K. Designs. The tag I bought at my LSS. The DP is DCWV I used some mesh tape underneath and some twine for the tag hole. THe image is colored with Copics. I'm sorry though...I forgot to write down the colors I used. But, it was a LOT...LOL Well, that's it so TFL!

I wanted to share with you a spontaneous project I decided to work on and am so happy with the results. I have to do these "sinus flushes" now to hopefully help prevent future sinus infections. Inside is the equipment I use for it. I needed to find a storage box though for it so I could keep it clean. So, I found a pastry box to use so I decided to re-make it. I hope you like it too! TFL!

Wow....I haven't posted since June 9th? man, does time fly. I want to thank everyone for all the kind well wishes and thoughtful suggestions. I really appreciate it. I'm just getting over being really sick and trying to get back into the swing of things. I decided I would work on some maggie images to get my mind off of the nausea and such. I managed to put a card together. This is one of those "just because" kind of cards. It's back to work for me tomorrow then, off the weekend again to gear up for monday. I am so excited to share this with you. I saw Kerry's shadowbox weeks ago that she had designed and thought to myself, I have GOT to try that! So, I ordered a really cute shadow box off of a seller at an Etsy Store. I colored the images in (except the tree) a few weeks ago and this project has been sitting on my workbench until I knew I was in the mood to tackle it.. I just added the tree and colored it in the early afternoon today and worked on covering the outside and adding embellishments all morning and into the afternoon. I am so happy how it turned out. Just as a side note too...it is HARD to try and photograph a project that has reflection on it. So, this is the best angle I could get.
The doghouse with dog is a sticker that I had picked up somewhere. I think the Dollar Tree. Anyhoo, the tilda, summer bkgd and edwin are all magnolia stamps. The DP is from Imaginisce. The images are colored in with Copics. I'm sorry I don't remember all the colors I used. Too many to count for 4 images. LOL The pearl accents are decorative centers I picked up somewhere. I think Michaels? the rub-on sentiments are a gift I got way back when. The ribbon is a gift. The small flowers are from Michaels. The branches are punched out using my MS punch. The red adornment ribbon is a Dollar Tree find. The blue felt detail ribbon at the bottom is Cosmo Cricket. I think that's it! TFL!

I had forgotten about some stamped images I had received in the beginning when I first got interested in Magnolia stamps and found this adorable blueberry tilda. I don't have this stamp yet, but, I enjoyed coloring her in so much that I know it's going to become a part of my collection. Magnolia house-

So I bought this chipboard house back last year when I attended CHA. It's sold by Crafty Secrets. I fell in love with it the minute I saw it and bought one for my mom as well. Only problem was, what in the world am I going to do with it?? That's why it sat for a while...LOL

Then, I got this idea....why not incorporate my tildas with it? I LOVE my magnolia stamps! Next thing I know....and about 2 weeks or so later...here it is! I took my time on it. Colored the images one day....distressed the DP and house another. Colored various chipboard pieces...etc. etc. I didn't want to rush it. Finally I found some time to finish it today. I'm am pleased as punch the way it turned out! I am proud of myself too that I actually saw a project through to the end. I'm notorious for leaving projects half done. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I didn't list all the supplies b/c I would be here all day typing. LOL If you want to know what I used, I would be happy to answer any questions :) TFL!!

Happy monday everyone.

I hope everyone is doing well. I've had a few ppl. ask me how we like the house. I appreciate your thinking of us! We are settled in nicely and love it. It truly feels like home to us. Much better than any place we've had before.

I decided to play the Copic Color Challenge for this week as well as enter the new to me magnolia stamp lovers challenge which is purple. I enjoyed coloring in tilda holding her pretty lilacs. It's so nice when you can get more than one kind of card from a stamp.
In addition, I used my new magnolia ribbon stamp for this. I tried something a little different for the bkgd using my mesh tape I bought at the hardware store. I LOVE this stuff! my fav part is that it is self-adhesive. Anyhoo, TFL!!

Easter tilda

I created this card for the Magnolia-licious Highlites March card challenge with a spring theme using acetate. I placed a layer of acetate over the CS and image. Then, I added some lace ribbon colored with TH antique linen distress ink, small pink ribbon with button and prima/Michael's flowers on top of the acetate. I used various DP from DCWV and Provocraft. I distressed the edges with my TH distress tool and then used TH distress ink for effect. I colored the image with my Copic markers. It was a challenge to get this card to come together for some reason but, it all finally worked out. TFL!

Hi everybody. :P Well, I finally made a card. I slept in this morning b/c I was exhausted from the week and then felt the bite of the creativity bug. This is created for my blog group the Designing D.I.V.A.S. (devine,inspirational,virtuous,artistic(or annointed) sistahs! The lovely annie is hosting this round of our monthly challenge and created this lovely sketch to follow. Hi all. :) I wanted to share with you a card I made for an upcoming birthday for one of my co-workers. I'm the designated monthly card maker for all the birthdays....LOL I don't mind really though b/c otherwise, the cards would just sit around. Anyhoo...this gal is very much a lady and lots of frilly, feminine touches is her style. So, I thought this Magnolia flowerbox image was perfect for her. I tried to catch the glittery effects I added to the roses, bow and paper ribbon as well as the Glimmer mist I applied to the paper tag under the image. I really had fun making this. TFL!

I wanted to share with you a project I made with a tilda image I colored when I was sick so I don't have a pic of the Copics I used. Sorry about that. I was trying to think of something to make other than a card and I had forgotten about annie's store Wild Flower Patch Annie offers some very reasonable, digital, downloadable templates. Let me tell you....they are FABULOUS!! I'm not to versed in paper projects so, I need all the help I can get.....LOL and the directions that annie provides with the templates is so clear! with pics! I LOVE that! I am a visual learner. A big thanks to annie for that!

Anyways, I thought the image would look cute on the back of this holder. I am pleased with the way it turned out. Plus, it's given me confidence to use the other template I purchased...a purse. I'm going to be making one for both of my nieces for valentine's day. TFL!

I got a chance to work on a tilda card today for 3 different challenges which are the Copic Colour Challenge with the 3 primary colors pictured above. I had the B97 but, the other 2 I had to just get as close as possible. Then, I decided to go for the frame card challenge over at Magnolia-licious and combined it with the Thankyou challenge over at Just Magnolia. This card was challenging to make. I found the frame card a little awkward and I'm not very good with an exacto knife but, oh well! I had fun coloring tilda. I tried to keep it country casual with the distressed DP and muted colors. I hope you like her too. :) TFL!

Magnolia Christmas

I really enjoyed making this card. I just love Christmas. I really seem to be in the mood this year more than I have been in a long time. I thank God for that. I've decided to enter this card in the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge and also for the Just Magnolia Christmas challenge. For Stampin' Sisters, we are to "bling" it up! use our "treasures" based on the verse Matthew 6:19-21 "Do not store up for yourself treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." The Magnolia challenge is a Christmas-themed card. I FINALLY got the time to make my first easel card. These are so EASY! and I will definitely being doing another one. :) TFL!

Hi again! :grin: I'm playin' again so I wanted to use my new mag stamps. This weeks' challenge at Just Magnolia Challenge blog is masking. I thought SAWEEEEET! I can use my new swing and sitting tilda stamps. I didn't feel like doing another Christmas card and since it's not even CLOSE to fall weather here... :roll: lol it has been raining and pouring on and off all day so far and it's 70 degrees. So, I wanted to do an image that was closer to our type of weather here in Florida. I finally managed to mask the swing correctly and actually have tilda sitting on it and not just hovering over it...LOL This was fun! TFL!

Wow....I'm lovin' these magnolia stamps but, man! I think this card took me like....four hours?...and then another hour or more to get the right picture. What was aggravating me is trying to capture the beautiful shimmer on the flowers from the glimmer mist plus the light tint of blue on them as well. It's SO frustrating to spend quality time on a card just to get a lousy pic....here's a pic of me with each pic... LOL AND of COURSE I always seem to be a day late most times...LOL so, consequently didn't get this submitted in time for the sketch challenge over at Just Magnolias. Oh well...I liked the sketch and was determined to get it done! I need to get out and get some more flowers! I'm plum out now after messing up a few too..oops...lol Overall, I'm pleased with the results. I guess it was worth all the aggravation.... :lol: TFL!!

I got to play a little more today and finished another tilda. I LOVE these magnolia images! I am definitely addicted....LOL This is for the Just Magnolia challenge this week with distressing as the theme. The layout I came up with on my own. I decided to add the mesh for some added interest. I distressed the purple angled square and I used my distress ink on the sentiment. In addition, I FINALLY got a chance to use these beautiful Hydrangea from K & Co. Furthermore, I decided to go with the monochrome theme from the previous week for a fluid look.

SSIC-challenge #13/Mag yahoo challenge

I had an opportunity to play a little after the dreaded "chore list" was done... :P So, I decided to pull out my new bkgd stamp that I received from Cheryl over at OnyxXpressions for having my card published in Just Cards magazine using one of her images. It's the beautiful bkgd stamp that you see here. I thought it was the perfect backdrop for this precious little magnolia image. I am entering this in the Stampin' Sisters In Christ Challenge this week and the shadow box card is the theme. It's based on the scripture: 1 Corinthians 13:12 (King James Version): "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known." PeggySue is hosting this one and here is her understanding of this portion of scripture in her words: Our view of God in this life is veiled; we can't see Him clearly. But just because our view is dim, doesn't diminish His reality or His glory. When we get to heaven, we won't be looking through a dark glass or catching a brief glimpse in a mirror, we will see Jesus face to face. We will know Him and He will truly know us, as no being knows us here on the earth. We will see God's glory revealed in all of its indescribable splendor and majesty. How wonderful! I don't know about you, but I am really looking forward to that. Isn't that beautiful? What a glorious day this will be! I'm also going to submit this for the December Magnolia-licious Homepage Card challenge in the Magnolia-licious yahoo group.
I've been wanting to try one of these cards and so I just had to participate. I printed out the tutorial from SCS.
I think I took a photo of this card about 20 times...no jest. :wow:
I just could NOT get the right angle without either a shadow or losing the "shimmer" that I wanted to capture. Here I FINALLY used my Yasutomo pearlescent watercolor paints on the snow. I ended up taking a paintbrush and dabbing some white PTI Fresh Snow ink on it to make it a little more visible and then went over the top of that again with the pearlescent paint in white. Furthermore, I painted the tree as well in the green pearlescent. The river is colored with a blue American Crafts Galaxy marker. Then I went over top of that with my sakura clear glitter pen. Because my take on snow is that it's always glistening. In addition, I used a copper Galaxy pen on the tree stumps to the right. I also finally pulled out these pretty white MFT flowers. I bought them up at CHA and never have had a chance to use them. I added some blue dewdrop centers. I applied some faux fern branches with my MS fern punch.
Tilda is colored in with prismacolor pencils and OMS with blender stump. Lastly, I used a Miss Elizabeth's adhesive sentiment and Heidi Grace rub-on snowflakes. The window is cut out using my CB and nesties die.Phew! I think that's it....LOL This was a FUN card to make! You'll definitely being seeing another one of these only with different images. TFL!
